NZ - Tongariro Alpine Crossing

We were excited to do this trek. Luckily we had the time to wait for the perfect conditions. The crossing is the longest trek we have ever undertaken at 20km (13 miles).

The location appears in some of the Mordor scenes in Lord of the Rings. The vast majority of the trek was well kept track apart from a steep section of scree decent from the peak which was pretty challenging. Once over the top we were treated to the Emerald lakes and amazing views.
