Had a wonderful stopover in Brisbane (and surrounds) for the Yuletide season.

Melanie kindly collected us from the airport and drove us straight to Mooloolaba (sunshine coast) for three days by the beach - great way to get through the initial jetlag.

Then back to Brisbane on Christmas Eve where we spent an hour queuing for the prawns, oysters and bugs (Aussie tradition apparently) then lots more shopping. Christmas day was spent in full Christmas theme (having raided Melanie's Christmas outfit box) with Jennifer, Clint, Lucy, Joshua, Brenda and Mike. We were totally spoilt and lunch was amazing!

We cooled down on Boxing day at the local open air swimming pool then over to David + Kymme's for champagne and sausage rolls.

We all fancied a day at the beach so headed to Coogiemudlo island which is pretty local to Brisbane. Lots of family fun with picnics and kayak races.

For New Year we stayed in Byron Bay on the Gold Coast. We had booked a converted bus for something a bit alternative. Byron itself was fabulous and, thank goodness, Jennifer and Clint were happy to host us for a large amount of time at their great camping spot next to the beach (avoiding the outdoor shower arrangements at the bus).

We topped off our trip with a visit to watch some tennis at Brisbane International. Murray was out, and Nadal had withdrawn however it was great to see some live sport.

All too quickly it was time for a final lunch with friends, spent in a lovely Brisbane riverside setting. We will have many fond memories of Chrissie in Brissie and were sad to say goodbye...until next time 💋😘
